I called my Mom, knowing she had no $ to send but hoping for advice. They also stole 2 gas credit cards that we had planned on using to get home & I had $50 cash in my pocket. They even stole my brothers tennis shoes. Including all of our Live/Dead tapes, all of the cd's that we owned at the time & my 2x cassette/CD boom box. Woke up the next morning to find that someone had broken into the rental car & stolen all of our stuff, including our tickets! Including an "Infrared Roses" cd with a half sheet of "fireworks" hidden inside. S P Taylor State Park at 2am & pitched the tent in the pouring down rain. We had brought a tent & camping equip cuz we didn't have $ for a hotel. However we did go a couple hours out of the way to see the Grand Canyon on the way.
We rented the car in Greenville, SC drove to a friends in Atlanta picked up a half sheet of fireworks & hit the road for San Francisco! It took us 52 hours to get there. To rent a car for a week with unlimited mileage.
So we figured.if we are going to do it, might as well do it right! Right? So we got tickets for these shows. On the East coast but was itching to see some West coast shows.
We hadīoth moved to S Carolina from Atlanta & was helping our parentsīuild a house there. My brother & I had been "out of the loop" so to speak.
